Excellent value for money!, 27 May 2011

I bought these to replace an aging pair of larger bins and a very small, compact pair. Both of which I was aware that the image quality wasn't as good as it should have been.
These Steiner Bins really do show the difference and I now know what I've been missing all these years! Excellent image quality, sharp and much more light in the lens. They just ooze quality all round.
Easy to use with a central and eye piece (left hand) focus bezels.
Very compact and lightweight; they'll fit in a decent size pocket without a problem.
Soft eye cups are a bit difficult to get used to but they can be removed.

Only slight criticisms are that given they are 'wildlife' compact binoculars a smaller and more compact case with a belt loop as well as a shoulder strap would have been more useful. The hard case they come with is too bulky for outdoor use and the should straps on that are not particularly secure.
A full set of lens covers would also have been more useful, rather than the ones provided just for the eyepiece.
The soft cleaning cloth is a nice touch.

Apart from that, they are great!

A good quality pair of binoculars for the price. Compact enough to fit in a coat pocket they come with a semi-hard case and a shoulder strap. I would have liked to have lens covers included for when carrying them without the case but apart from that I'm very happy with them.

Everything you would expect from Nikon - excellent build quality and specifiction. The image is extremely bright at the low magnification end and acceptable at the x24 end. Well worthwhile having the zoom capability as the size and weight is for all intents and purposes similar to the non zoom models. Definitely recommend these binocs.

For a small, lightweight item these binoculars are very good indeed. The view is clear and bright although it does darken a little at the very highest magnification, that's only to be expected when you consider the size of the objectives. They are supplied with a carry cord and a material case which has a strong looking belt loop.

They have replaced my Pentax 8x21's as my go everywhere bino's, they are excellent for bird watching, aeroplane spotting and general `viewing'. Certainly light enough to take anywhere and OK for spectacle wearers too. They can also be used for astronomy at a push but, and here's the one caveat with them, at anything more than 10x power you do need help to hold them steady, a wall, table or even a broom, but you will need something as the FOV at the higher mags is very small indeed. I haven't done the math but suspect that while the FOV at 8x is 4.6 degrees it drops down to 1 degree or perhaps less at the higher mags.

All round though a first rate pair of bino's.

The binoculars offer an excellent, bright image and are light and easy to use. I opted for the zoom version on the recommendation of another purchaser and have not been disappointed. This facility offers greater flexibility and is easy to use whilst viewing. Sure the quality suffers at highest magnification but it is still very acceptable.

This particular product is slightly larger than the standard 8 x 25 Nikon's that I had previously but easy to handle and fits nicely to hand. I use them primarily for bird watching but they suit a variety of general purposes and I rate them highly.

These are good value entry-level binoculars, optical quality is pretty good for the price. I have only used them for terrestrial viewing so far but plan to use them for binocular astronomy as well.

The binos came well packaged as you would expect from Amazon, the supplied case is a bit poorly padded and the neck strap is very thin. But for the price paid the overall product is good.

Being an owner of a couple of pairs of B&S binoculars, I was comfortable with the prospect of going for one of their scopes, and was not surprised to find that the specifications and build quality on this scope were just as good as my B&S bins. Excellent value and a good entry level scope for wildlife.

Rubber armoured, BAK 4 prisms, fogproof and a pretty good degree of waterproofing (plus a very user-friendly stay-on case) make this a great performer for the money. As far as optics go, the images are clear and bright. Focusing and zoom are both very smooth although there is a very small hint of chromatic aberration at full zoom, which doesn't really cause a problem for me because the bulk of my viewing will be done in the 20 - 30-ish zoom range. I haven't tried digiscoping with it yet but adapters are available. It has a fixed eyepiece so you can't interchange but that's not really an issue at this price level.

This is a smallish scope and pretty lightweight at under a kilo, so very easy to pack and carry. So far I am very pleased with it. I went for this rather than the heavier 80mm model, despite its bigger zoom. Going more stealthy and packing less weight wins for me every time!

This one is my very first purchase and introduction into Night Vision Monocular.
I originally bought it for some night effect work for my SLR camera.

Lets see: DESIGN
At first i am very pleasant surprised about it's weight and size. Yes the Yokun SPARTAN 2X24 is lightweight, pretty compact and fits nicely into my hands. It only weights 380g!
Lovely rubber case that keeps water droplets off and still keep your grip perfectly around the unit.

NIGHT VISION
Then it does a fine job in any kind of twilight conditions or low-light environments.
Ones we move into absolute darkness then there is the Infra Red Illuminator with has a nice 150m range. OK, with the IR turned on it only shows us a nice bright beam in the centre of the vision but leaves the outer ring as it would be in normal NV operation. It isn't a bad thing really and we getting used to that since it is really only the centre bit that really counts.
Now to the lens and OPTICS.
Well, i have to say that there is a tiny little bit of "Fisheye" effect. Ones we look long enough through the optic you start to notice this on particular on angels that should be dead straight (like buildings). Surely saying this the fisheye effect only really shows around the outer ring of the lens.
To be honest it isn't much of a problem for me and i got used to that. Again, its mostly the centre bit of the lens you used the most time in anyway.
The focus is maybe something to get use too! You will spent quite some time refocusing every now and then throughout the operation of this unit. From close range sharpness, to mid and long range sharpness. Using this unit on the move (walking/hiking) in the dark will let you pretty constantly fiddling on the lens focus ring.
The eyepiece sharpness ring can be a bit "temperamental" since there is no lock function.
Overall i would say that the lens does it's job.

OTHERS
Battery life is not bad at all! 20 hours is impressive!
It is very quiet while operating.
There is a pouch that comes with it and a hand strap, both are not bad either.
